Introduced during Alan Moore’s run on DC’s Swamp Thing, John Constantine is a working class occult detective based in London, so naturally this flashy movie version turns him into Keanu Reeves, relocates the action to Los Angeles and gives him Shia LaBouef as a wisecracking sidekick.

It’s not all bad, though: Peter Stormare turns up as Satan, but even he can’t do much to enliven two hours of laborious twaddle.
