20 Comic Book Movies That Are Practically Flawless
2. Avengers: Infinity War (2018) & Avengers: Endgame (2019)
Unquestionably the biggest superhero event of all time, Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame form an epic two-part conclusion the MCU's long-running Infinity Saga, expertly bringing together every one of the franchise's overarching stories and characters into one final showdown against the Mad Titan, Thanos (Josh Brolin).
Directed by the Joe and Anthony Russo, the way in which both movies balance their impossible-to-comprehend casts, overflowing fan service, intimate character drama and enormous action sequences is simply inspiring, as too is the way it leaves very few plotholes despite its time-bending narrative.
Emotionally paying tribute to the various actors and characters who've brought the MCU to life since day one, both Infinity War and Endgame bring the first era of the franchise to a breathtaking conclusion few can really fault as an effective send-off.
The MCU is still going strong - and promises to challenge itself more than ever going forward - but chances are it'll never be this satisfying or epic again.
