Michael Caine and Sean Connery together in the same movie? What more could you ask for? An impressive stunt or two probably wouldn't go amiss. Caine and Connery star as two NCOs in the Indian Army who set off on an adventure and find themselves worshiped by the people of Kafiristan. A perennial favourite for Sunday afternoon broadcasting, it might not be the most politically correct film out there but its entertainment value is hard to deny. While most readers are probably more familiar with the rope bridge stunt from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, The Man Who Would Be King got there first. The drop was performed by Joe Powell - described by stunt legend Vic Armstrong as "the daddy of British stuntmen" - who had to fall 80 feet onto a ledge with boxes on it or else plummet into the ravine.
