20 Crazy Facts You Just Have To Accept To Enjoy The Transformers Franchise

10. The Humour Is Just Terrible

What's responsible for much of the padding in these movies is the needless addition of juvenile, childish humour. In the first movie, there's that cringe-worthy line, "this is easily a hundred times cooler than Armageddon", as well as the awkward banter with Sam's parents, the ridiculous scene in Revenge of the Fallen when Sam's mother eats a pot brownie and behaves like she's on cocaine, and of course, all those damn Irish jokes in Age of Extinction. Oh, and the dogs humping in Revenge of the Fallen: who could forget that? These are just a few examples, but they're indicative of just how little Bay and co. think of their audience: while a lot of 12 and 13-year-old boys watch these movies, is there really much pride in deigning to their lesser instincts quite so willingly? Anyone outside of this demographic will either miss the joke or simply find it cringe-inducingly unfunny, and these frequent comedic diversions make it embarrassing to even be sat in the cinema watching it.
