3. It's Hard To Tell The Transformers Apart
Though the action sequences are easily where the movies fare best, even these moments aren't without one glaring issue: sometimes there's so much colliding, exploding metal that it's difficult to work out which Transformers are which. While the likes of Optimus and Bumblebee are easy enough to identify, when some of less-colourful Autobots and Decepticons are going at it, it's virtually impossible to figure out who is who: all that can be seen is a smattering of grey metal. Though the action can still be enjoyable on a visceral level, audiences can't get truly invested in it if they have no idea which pile of metal to root for. Though Bay uses plenty of slow motion to try and make more sense of it all, the visual incoherence still proves hugely problematic throughout the movies.
