In a small town in Maine, Johnny (Christopher Walken) drives home in an awful storm, suffers an accident and is put into a coma. He wakes up five years later and discovers that he has psychic powers that occur when he touches someone. He touches a nurse and sees her little girl trapped in a fire and when this is checked out it is proven to be true. When the news of his powers spread, Johnny eventually agrees to help detectives in a murder case. He is soon able to detect that a Deputy Sheriff did the deed and the deputy commits suicide. However, he doesn't end his life with a gun, a rope, or any other typical means. Nope, he seemingly wants to go out like no one else ever has; by slamming his face into a sharp pair of scissors. Although they dont show the scissors actually going into his skull, its the sheer brilliance of the set up juxtaposed with the aftermath that make this scene so effective and cringe-worthy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fltSq_QHbbk
