Arnold Cunningham (Keith Gordon) is a nerdy teen with only one friend, Dennis Guilder (John Stockwell). Arnie's life begins to change when he buys a used red-and-white 1958 Plymouth Fury, nicknamed "Christine", in need of extensive repairs. Dennis soon starts to notice that Arnies personality is beginning to change he becomes cocky and confident. It is soon discovered that the car has a murderous past Leave it to Stephen King and John Carpenter to make a 1958 Plymouth Fury the scariest thing in theaters. The gorgeous automobile somehow has a mind of its own and is for some unexplained reason set on killing people. Regardless of how ridiculous that premise may sound, this movie was genuinely terrifying in 1983, leaving car enthusiasts everywhere sleeping with one eye open and on their garages. One of the film's most memorable scenes is where the obligatory horror movie bully, Moochie, meets his demise. Not because it's particularly unpredictable, but because of the sheer relentlessness of the car. Christine chases the chubby bully and corners him in a loading dock. Christine then slowly mashes her metal sides in to crush him. Why doesn't Moochie simply jump onto Christines hood and escape? Well, that's a question for another day. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbHKdn0XScg
