20 Creepiest Stephen King Movie Moments

16. Sparrow Annihilation - The Dark Half (1993)

The Dark Half combines two power-house story-tellers in the form of Stephen King and George Romero. This duo was a force to be reckoned with when they brought the world Creepshow back in 1982, so how could they go wrong collaborating again with The Dark Half. In two words; they didn€™t. This is one of the few stories by King that transitioned shockingly well to screen. Aspiring writer Thad Beaumont (Timothy Hutton) has reached a certain level of fame and success cranking out hard-nosed genre novels under the pen name of George Stark. But now Beaumont thirsts for €œrespectability,€ something that eludes his popular but critically dismissed alter ego, and believes his latest effort will provide just that. At the same time, an erstwhile fan discovers the link between Beaumont and Stark and threatens to expose the secret unless some monetary compensation is forthcoming. Before this can happen Beaumont goes public and tells everyone he is Stark, essentially killing off his pseudonym. Stark isn't content with being dispatched and he comes to life determined to stick around. Stark then goes around killing those responsible for his demise. After a climatic struggle between the writer and his hellspawn pseudonym, the film ends with a huge flock of sparrows who tear Stark apart, and take him back to hell where he belongs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F63pia00pLM
