16. Danny Torrance - The Shining (1980)
Danny is another sweet little kid who is rendered creepy due to a supernatural affliction - in this case telepathy. His alcoholic dad Jack accepts a job minding a huge hotel over the winter when it will be snowed in. He promptly goes stir crazy partially due to cabin fever and also partially due to the ghosts of the hotel casting a spell over him. The hotel is a terrible environment for the psychic Danny. He speaks to Tony - his imaginary friend, sees twin girls lying mutilated and blood splashing throughout the corridors. And then there is the whole Redrum business. Being a parent to Danny would suck because you wouldn't be sure of what spooky thing he is going to do or say next. You would also be upset that your child experiences such gruesome psychic phenomena - Danny sees things that kids his age have no business seeing, things that freak adults out. For these reasons, Danny is a creepy kid no one would wish to parent. Unless they were very intrepid.
