Interestingly, the next cringe comes from the tail end of that same scene, when Khan wakes up, knocks everyone around, breaks Carol Marcus' leg, and then crushes Admiral Marcus' skull. In many ways, it's a very pleasing scene and lots of fun to see Marcus get his comeuppance - but then Khan has to go and ruin it by saying something.

Now, we get that something had to be said, and some James Bondian quip wouldn't have done the moment justice. Besides, Khan isn't exactly a man with a sense of humor, in either incarnation, so any sort of joke is right out.
