20 Most Cringeworthy Moments In The New Star Trek Movies

15. The Enterprise Brewery From Star Trek And Star Trek Into Darkness

Paramount PicturesParamount PicturesAs with the lens flare, the cringes induced by views of the Los Angeles Budweiser Brewery posing as the Enterprise's Engineering section are more an ongoing irritation than one big one. Without even being told that's the setting, most people watching this movie will look at it and say "That's the interior of a starship?" in a way that completely takes them out of the movie. For one thing, isn't it just a little too damn big for Engineering? For another, what are all those big vats for, anyway? Dilithium hops? If the two movies didn't spend so much time there, it would be easier to forget, but we seem to be down there all the time - and nothing is more jarring than shots that switch from the Apple Store that is now the new Bridge to the brewery that is now Engineering. What's Uhura doing down there under a big ol' tank, we've no idea - maybe working in Communications is so stressful you need to be near a beer tap to get through a shift? And if this weren't enough, we get to see a lot more of it later. A lot more. But we'll get there soon...
