Those familiar with the source material likely had a heart attack when they sat down to watch the filmic adaptation of Alan Moore's The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, which is without a doubt one of the best and most interesting comic book series of all-time. And then there's this horrifically Hollywoodised movie version, starring Sean Connery in the role that made him quit acting forever. Watching the movie, you can see why. The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen is one of the more frustrating entries to have made it onto the list, mainly because it will probably never find itself with the opportunity to be made into another film as a result of this one. It's not entirely apparent as to whether director Stephen Norrington actually read Moore's comics, because everything about this is wrong; this is a smart, brilliant work turned into lowest common denominator trash.
