Given that all the Die Hard sequels before A Good Day To Die Hard were actually pretty good (Yes: even Die Hard 4.0), the odds of another worthy chapter in the mess that is John McClane's life turning up seemed likely. Think again, suckers. With its bland, bogus "Russians are the bad guys" plotline and its loud and relentlessly tedious action sequences, A Good Day To Die Hard does absolutely nothing to justify its existence. Not a thing. Truthfully, this movie almost functions like an action movie checklist, with cliches being ticked off as the minutes go by. There is so little originality inherent to A Good Day To Die Hard that it verges near that of parody, with John McClane and his son, Jack, going up against a bunch of terrorists who want to... well, does it even matter? You've seen this movie a dozen times before, albeit better. We were fools to believe that this could've worked.
