20 Doctor Who Actors Who Have Been In Star Wars (& 2 Who Will Be)
10. Deep Roy
The Kenyan-born actor, Deep Roy, might be small in stature but he's big in sci-fi and fantasy credits! He's accumulated appearances in numerous cult programmes and films, from The New Avengers to The X-Files, by way of Planet of the Apes and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Oh, and he can boast about having several roles in Blake's 7 and playing every single Oompa-Loompa in Tim Burtons version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. Many Doctor Who fans know all about his role as the homicidal pig-brained Peking Homonculus, Mr Sin, in the Fourth Doctor adventure The Talons of Weng-Chiang. What they might not be aware of is his uncredited performance as the Possican Delegate in the Mindwarp section of The Trial of a Time Lord season (specifically, in episode 7). Similarly, legions of Star Wars fans can easily identify Roy as the flute-playing Droopy McCool in Return of the Jedi. He was in the band playing in Jabba's palace. But they might struggle to identify Roy as an Ewok and a stand-in inside R2-D2 in the very same film. Just to make every other sci-fi actor especially jealous, Roy also plays Scotty's pal, Keenser, in the new Star Trek films.
