Superman IV is by far the worst Superman movie to date, beginning with Lex Luthor stealing a strand of Supes' hair and launching it on a test missile, which for some reason creates the supervillain Nuclear Man (played by Mark Pillow though strangely voiced by Hackman). Nuclear Man is an insanely strong match for Supes and he also has the ability to inflict radioactive scratches, but he has one fatal flaw: he needs the sun to remain conscious, and without it can be easily picked off by the Man of Steel. The whole idea is dumb from writing to casting to ultimate execution, and contributes significantly to making The Quest for Peace a laughing stock on which Reeve ended his Superman tenure. Terrible.
