20 Easter Eggs From Spider-Man: No Way Home You May Have Missed
15. Peter's/Spider-Man's Depiction By JJJ
J Jonah Jameson, portrayed by an awesome-to-have-him-back JK Simmons, spends much of the run-time of No Way Home (after his surprise cameo at the end of Far From Home) slamming Spider-Man as a murderer, a liar, and a menace to New York.
He often uses the image of half of Peter's face and half of a Spider-Man mask, an image that has its roots far back in Marvel Comics history. For many years, whenever it needed to be shown that Peter was indeed Spider-Man, or that he was sensing something as Spidey while not in costume, this kind of image would be used.
It was an easy and quick way to show the conflicting duties of Peter as a student and Spider-Man as a crimefighter; duties which often seemed to come up at the most inopportune times.
Adapting it to modern media and social media would be as easy as slapping two pictures together in a photo editor and away you go.
As a side note, it's also amusing to note how over the course of No Way Home, JJJ slowly becomes more successful as he spins the truth further and further, starting to be a spokesman for products during his show and moving from a simple greenscreen studio in his basement at the beginning to a full studio and news crew by the end.
