20 Easter Eggs You Somehow Missed In Quantum Of Solace

10. A Great Escape

Quantum Of Solace Easter Eggs
MGM/Columbia Pictures

One of the greatest non-Bond Easter eggs in Quantum of Solace takes place during the sequences set in Haiti.

After he has been given the cold shoulder by Camille, who has mistaken him for a hitman in Dominic Greene's employ, Double-0 Seven steals a motorbike from one of Greene's henchmen (Jacques Duckins) and pursues Camille's Ford Ka through the streets of Port-au-Prince to the docks.

Given his rugged good looks and his choice in fashion, plus the bike itself, Craig's Bond resembles Steve McQueen's Captain Virgil Hilts, a.k.a. "The Cooler King" riding a Triumph TR6 Trophy in his bid to escape from a German prisoner of war camp in The Great Escape (1963).

Contributor

I started writing for WhatCulture in July 2020. I have always enjoyed reading and writing. I have contributed to several short story competitions and I have occasionally been fortunate enough to have my work published. During the COVID-19 lockdown, I also started reviewing films on my Facebook page. Numerous friends and contacts suggested that I should start my own website for reviewing films, but I wanted something a bit more diverse - and so here I am! My interests focus on film and television mainly, but I also occasionally produce articles that venture into other areas as well. In particular, I am a fan of the under appreciated sequel (of which there are many), but I also like the classics and the mainstream too.
