20 Easter Eggs You Somehow Missed In Quantum Of Solace
12. A View To A Bridge
Sir Roger Moore's tenure as James Bond ended with him fighting Christopher Walken's psychotic villain, Max Zorin on the immense cables of San Francisco's iconic Golden Gate Bridge in A View to a Kill (1985).
After Bond tethered Zorin's escape airship to the bridge, causing it to collide with the structure, Zorin grabbed a fire axe from inside the dirigible and repeatedly slashed at Bond with it, missing the Double-0 agent by a whisker before tumbling into San Francisco Bay far below.
In Quantum of Solace, Daniel Craig's James Bond and Dominic Greene battle whilst the Perla de las Dunas Hotel explodes around them. Greene is nowhere near as experienced a fighter as Bond is, but his frantic fighting style perhaps makes him even more dangerous than Bond's usual opposition.
Grabbing a fire axe off the wall, Greene attacks Bond with full force, missing the British agent by inches, but forcing him onto a small bridge in the hotel. Proving his lack of skill, the head of Greene Planet unintentionally (and very painfully) swings the axe down upon his own foot, whilst the bridge spanning the raging inferno finally gives way beneath both Greene and Bond.
Only Double-0 Seven is able to climb to safety, meaning that Greene's days are numbered.
