20 Easter Eggs You Somehow Missed In Quantum Of Solace
13. Bond Won't Ever Fly With Anyone Else
The pre-credits sequence to the 1979 Bond film, Moonraker is one of the most ambitious stunt sequences ever to feature in the franchise.
Memorably, Roger Moore's James Bond fights over a parachute with a nefarious pilot played by Jean-Pierre Castaldi before taking on his old adversary, Jaws in mid-freefall.
For Quantum of Solace, the scene was remade to involve the film's Bond Girl. Giving Camille the sole parachute onboard the crippled Douglas DC-3 that they are escaping from, Daniel Craig's Bond jumps after her and grabs her in freefall so that they can share it.
Pulling the ripcord, the pair of them suffer a rough fall into a sinkhole far below, but are largely uninjured, mirroring both the stunning freefall between Bond and Jaws in Moonraker and Jaws's own rough (but also non-fatal) landing in that film.
The freefall sequence in Quantum of Solace was filmed in an air tunnel at Bodyflight in Bedford (rather than being a real freefall) with Daniel Craig and Olga Kurylenko performing their own stunts for the scene.
