20 Films That Starred 3 Or More Harry Potter Actors
6. Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street (2007)
Potter Actors Featured: Alan Rickman, Helena Bonham Carter, Timothy Spall
Dark wizards of varying allegiances and motives in the Potter series, Alan Rickman, Timothy Spall and, of course, Helena Bonham Carter star in Tim Burton's re-imagining of the Tony Award-winning 1979 musical of the same name.
Sweeney Todd is a Victorian melodrama that follows the life and victims of the titular barber, who, along with his accomplice Mrs Lovett (Bonham Carter) cuts his customers throats and processes their bodies into meat pies. This is just a side venture for Todd, however, who has returned to London to seek revenge on Turpin (Alan Rickman), a crooked Judge who sent him away for 15 years, raped his wife and now lusts after his daughter.
Timothy Spall (Wormtail) comes into play as Turpin's corrupt associate Beadle Bamford, and many of their scenes together are somewhat reminiscent of Malfoy Manor in the later harry Potter movies. Both contribute to Burton's passion project with purposefully loathsome performances, though their characters are not quite as loathsome as Johnny Depp's singing, which is saying something.
