Potter Actors Featured: Emma Thompson, Imelda Staunton, Kelly Macdonald

Kirk Jones' film stars Emma Thompson (divination teacher Professor Trelawney) as the titular Nanny and follows her time with the Brown family in Victorian England. The father, a widowed undertaker named Cedric, has lost control of his seven unruly children, though with discipline and a little bit of magic the wart-ridden McPhee is able to put the house back on the right path.

Dolores Umbridge actress Imelda Staunton also appears in this macarbe Mary Poppins pastiche, playing the Browns' resident chef Mrs. Blatherwick, who (in a role reversal from her time at Hogwarts) is terrorised by the children before McPhee appears. Kelly Macdonald (Rowena Ravenclaw) gets an easier ride from the Brown kids as their ever-patient scullery maid Evangeline.

The Potter reunion continued with the 2010 sequel Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang (released in North America as Nanny McPhee Returns), which saw Rhys Ifans, Maggie Smith and Ralph Fiennes - Xenophilius Lovegood, Professor McGonagall and Lord Voldemort - added to the cast.
