18. Escape Room: Tournament Of Champions - The Second Room
The first Escape Room wasn't great, but it was plenty of fun and it did provide one of 2019's best film moments with the movie's third escape room, which was phenomenally good. Its delayed sequel followed suite.
Escape Room: Tournament of Champions was a bit underwhelming, but the escape rooms themselves certainly didn't disappoint and the second escape room in the film - which unfolds in a room resembling a bank vault - is easily among the best set-pieces of 2021.
As both a perplexing, wickedly smart puzzle and a nerve-shredding masterclass in suspense, Escape Room 2's second room is an exceptionally well-executed scene that just happens to lurk within a fairly average movie. Even those who aren't won over by the overall film - and plenty won't be due to how bad that final act twist was - will probably love this part of it.
