Perhaps no slasher in the history of horror can lay claim to more unique, creative, entertaining and downright brutal kills than the swamp-dwelling Victor Crowley in Adam Green's Hatchet films. He€™s certainly not just your run-of-the-mill butcher knife or machete-wielding killer: he likes to get in there and get his hands dirty.

The original Hatchet is quite literally a highlight reel of gruesome practical effects, which is probably why gorehounds love it so much. However, there's one death scene in particular that stands disembodied head and shoulders above the rest; namely, where Victor Crowley places his hands inside the mouth of an old woman, one on top, one on bottom, and rips her head clean in half, leaving her wagging tongue dancing around in the gory mess.

While none of Crowley€™s victims get off easy by any stretch of the imagination, this particular death looks like it would probably be the most painful (though the woman having her face completely annihilated by a gas-powered belt sander is a very close second).
