12. Underwater
Ever since the years of the Twilight Saga, Robert Pattinson has done his best to completely reinvent himself, with major projects like The Odyssey, The Lighthouse, and The Batman among others going a long way to his success in this area. Kristen Stewart's sole blockbuster post-Bella, however, was the all-time level bust, 2019's Charlie's Angels.
To that end, Stewart has instead found her career on a path to smaller, lesser-appreciated projects than those of her former co-star. She may not be leading a superhero franchise, but she still has some strong outings to her name, even if less people have seen them.
Joining the fraternity of sea creature features, Underwater released in 2020. Stewart plays Norah Price, who, along with her crew of deep-sea drillers and engineers, came into contact with the beast responsible for what they believed at first to be earthquakes.
As a monster movie, it trumps the similar ocean-based The Meg from two years prior, and leans heavily and successfully into the horror and claustrophobic aspects such a story allows. Certainly, it is a flawed film, and it could have used a lot less TJ Miller, for one thing, but an overall thoroughly jump-inducing effort, and arguably one of Kristen Stewart's best.
