6. Toy Story (1995)

Another Pixar movie, another rip-off accusation. What is still perhaps the studio's best and most beloved film, and the first movie to be rendered entirely with CGI, tells the story of a cowboy doll named Woody, and the jealously he feels when his owner - Andy - gets a new space action figure named Buzz Lightyear. The idea sounds about as original as they come, and yet... we can't ignore that hour-long TV special from 1986 called The Christmas Toy, can we? How Much Of A Rip-Off Are We Talking? Well, The Christmas Toy aired on ABC nine years before Toy Story was even a thing. Be it by complete coincidence or by total accident, however, these two creative works share a lot of major plot points. Firstly, they're both about toys that fear being replaced by other toys from... yes... outer space (in The Christmas Toy, it's Meteora: Queen of the Asteroids).
