20 Great Movies That Were Accused Of Being Rip-Offs

20. Frozen (2013)

Disney's latest animated gem recently became the highest-grossing animated movie of all-time, crossing that elusive billion dollar mark whilst driving everyone mad with the frequent renditions of "Let It Go." What hasn't been discussed quite as much as John Travolta mispronouncing Idina Menzel's name at the Oscars, though, is that fact that Frozen shares a lot of similarities with an obscure '80s Japanese anime called Saint Seiya. Can we... let it go? How Much Of A Rip-Off Are We Talking? Let us count the ways: Frozen tells the story of two sisters, the older of which has the ability to conjure up snow and ice. Saint Seiya also features this plotline, with two sisters - the older of which has the ability to freeze things. The story structure itself has also come under fire, given that they're apparently very similar. What a lot of people seem to have failed to miss is that Frozen is based on a Hans Christian Anderson story, "The Snow Queen," from 1844. Overall Rip-Off Rating: 2/5
