20 Greatest Ending Lines in Film History

19. Se7en

"Ernest Hemingway once wrote, 'The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.' I agree with the second part." This is a pretty dark statement, but after the acts of depravity we've sat through for the past two hours, can you really blame him? The world is an awful, awful place, and it must seem especially so from the point of view of a law enforcement officer who frequently has to deal with the worst elements of humanity. But even though he has no illusions about the world being all shiny and happy, he still thinks it's worth fighting for. Given the subject matter of Se7en, that's about the most optimistic ending you could wish for, without Morgan Freeman busting out an acoustic guitar and singing Kumbaya.
