20 Greatest Horror Movie Endings Of All Time

13. The Mist (2007)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8SBxS1jPi-k The Movie: A freak storm unleashes a species of blood-thirsty creatures on a small town, where a small band of citizens hole up in a supermarket and fight for their lives. Brought to life by director Frank Darabont, this is one of the few modern Stephen King adaptations that actually got done right. The Ending: David Drayton (Thomas Jane) completely gives up on the prospect of being saved, and rather than facing a fate in which he, his son and the other survivors are ripped apart by alien monsters, they enter a suicide pact. David kills the three adults as well as his own son, but when he turns the gun on himself, he realizes he€™s out of bullets. He ventures outside to be killed by the beasts, only for the military to show up, having quashed the alien onslaught and making it clear that had he waited just a few minutes longer, David and the others could have all lived happily ever after. Whoops.
