20 Greatest Insults in Film History

8. The Sandlot

"You play ball like a GIRL!" - Hamilton "The Babe" Porter
Middle-schoolers always have the best insults. When the ragtag group of kids from the sandlot face off against the rich boys whose parents have the money to put them on a real baseball team, it sort of goes without saying that there are going to be some choice words exchanged between them. They have a classic showdown, filled with all the nastiness and scatological humor that only a group of 12-year-old boys could pull off. They're standing in the dirt, trading some truly gross insults, until finally Hamilton "The Babe" Porter spits out, "You play ball like a GIRL!" Immediately, everyone's jaws drop comically and their eyes bug out. The leader of the rich kids is stricken speechless; he blinks twice, trying to think of a comeback, but nothing comes to mind. This is the worst possible thing you could say to a person, and they don't know how to respond to it. The conversation is over.
