20 Greatest Moments In Wizarding World Movies
1. The Graveyard - Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire
Despite the strength of these other moments, nothing beats the finale of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Simply put, this is film perfection.
Harry's confrontation with the resurrected Lord Voldemort is thrilling, unbearably tense and honestly very frightening, while it's fantastically directed and scored too. It's the best set-piece of the franchise in general, but it's the sheer emotional power that takes it to the next level.
The spirits of Harry's parents and Cedric Diggory appear when Harry and Voldemort's spells collide and like every scene involving Harry's parents, this is very hard-hitting. Still, Cedric asking Harry to take his body back to his father is even more stirring.
Perhaps the main thing that makes this scene so effective is that this represents the biggest emotional and physical struggle Harry had ever gone through at this point and in the big coming-of-age narrative this series is, this feels like the loss of innocence moment for him.
When Harry finally escapes and returns to Hogwarts with Cedric's body, he collapses and starts crying. Chances are, so will you.
All in all, this terrifying, stunning and gripping life or death battle for everyone's favourite wizard is arguably the greatest moment in this franchise so far. Can they ever top it? If they do, it'll be a miracle.
