20 Greatest Performances In Superhero Movies

19. Wesley Snipes - Blade (Blade Trilogy)

Wolverine The Joker
New Line Cinema

Wesley Snipes' vampire-human hybrid may not be as quick-witted as some of the other heroes on this list, but he nevertheless thrives on the strength of his sheer, unbridled bada**ery.

Blade takes few prisoners and pulls no punches when it comes to eliminating blood-thirsty vampires, and Snipes' physical presence is a big part of why the movies were so successful.

Snipes' chemistry with Kris Kristoffersen's Whistler combines with his adept action chops to make Snipes' performance one of the most definitive and inscrutable in all of superhero cinema... even when having to pretend Blade: Trinity wasn't a complete dumpster fire.

Put it this way: can you imagine anyone else playing this character as well as him? While Snipes' apparent commitment to believing he actually is Blade doesn't always mesh well with his co-stars (Patton Oswalt had some "interesting" things to say about him), going full method seems to at least benefit the character and his performance.
