20 Greatest Sidekicks In Film History

9. Duckie - Pretty In Pink

There is a generation of people who were teenagers when this film came out, and will never forgive Molly Ringwald's character in Pretty in Pink for ending up with Andrew McCarthy's bland Blane. Duckie just seemed like such a fun, sweet guy, and it's clearly established within the film that he's a very good kisser. Sure, his utter devotion to Andie verges on creepy (never tell a girl how many times you've ridden your bike past her house...or better yet, don't be a weirdo and ride past her house over and over again), but his Otis Redding routine alone made audiences fall in love with him. The fact that he's ridiculously charming almost lets people forget that he's the prototypical "nice guy" who thinks that Andie somehow owes him a relationship just because he likes her.
