20 Greatest Video Game Movie Moments EVER

9. The Unhinged Lumalee - The Super Mario Bros Movie

Mortal Kombat
Illumination

The new Super Mario Bros. Movie was a fair improvement upon its live-action predecessor, albeit still far from a great film.

That said, its easy show-stealer was a most unexpected character indeed, with the nihilistic blue Luma held prisoner in Bowser's (Jack Black) castle, Lumalee, proving to be the roster's low-key MVP.

Once Luigi (Charlie Day) is imprisoned there, he meets the petrified residents, including the deranged Lumalee, who has clearly been driven suicidally insane by their confinement.

Lumalee repeatedly begs for the sweet release of death and seems hilariously disappointed when it doesn't come, a fact made all the more twisted by the decision to have Lumalee be voiced by a child - and co-director Michael Jelenic's daughter Juliet, no less.
