Chart Position: 9thWorldwide Gross: $646,220,549 The fourth Hunger Games film and the second part of Mockingjay, Part 2 just crept into the worldwide top ten in 2015, more so because of the franchises fan-base and devotion than the films overall value, one would imagine. While its always been one of the better young adult cinema adaptations, and while the presence of Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harrelson, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Donald Sutherland has often elevated the films, Mockingjay Part 2 suggests that the franchises run might be over in terms of quality. While theres still parts to admire, Part 2 nevertheless feels like a rushed film, too slow and steady to begin with before shooting off into a messy, shoddy final third. The pace, so often well controlled in the series, is completely off here, and the film loses major points because as a consequence. Mockingjay really didnt have to be split into two parts, and Part 2 is a testament to that.
