20 Highest Grossing Movies Of 2016 - Ranked Worst To Best

9. Jason Bourne

Suicide Squad
Universal Pictures

Box Office: $415.2 million (#15)

Though unquestionably the weakest of the four Bourne movies to date (likely due to series writer Tony Gilroy having no part in it), Jason Bourne is still an effortlessly entertaining romp thanks to committed performances (from Matt Damon and Vincent Cassel especially) and well-staged action sequences.

The script is much more reliant on convenience than prior entries and it's none-too-surprising where it's going for the most part, but in a post-Wikileaks world, adding another chapter to the Bourne saga feels incredibly apt.

But please, guys, let this be it for the character. There are only so many times he can slink away as Moby plays us out before it just feels lazy.
