20 Highest Grossing Movies Of 2016 - Ranked Worst To Best

19. Warcraft

Suicide Squad
Universal

Box Office: $433.5 million (#14)

Duncan Jones' adaptation of the beloved video game franchise remains one of 2016's most crushing disappointments, because despite the admittedly brilliant Orc renderings, Warcraft is an oddly cheap-looking adventure flick with some truly shambolic performances.

Borderline incomprehensible to non-gamers and surprisingly dull, it often feels like a low-budget costume drama given the blatant green screen and naff-looking props and costumes, such that seeing an actor of Ben Foster's caliber in the fray is both hilarious and deeply unsettling.

Without the Warcraft name, nobody would be taking this dry, crusty fantasy flick seriously: it's woefully lacking in energy and once again demonstrates the pervasiveness of the video game movie curse.
