14. Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad
Warner Bros. Pictures

Box Office: $745.6 million (#8)

Fanboys had their hopes crushed many times this summer, and after being marketed as a grittier answer to Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, Suicide Squad ended up being a tone-deaf mess clearly chopped into oblivion in post-production.

Will Smith and Margot Robbie are terrific as Deadshot and Harley Quinn respectively, but Jared Leto's The Joker feels like a non-entity considering his brief screen time, and Cara Delevingne damn-near sinks the third act single-handedly with her Razzie-worthy performance as Enchantress.

The plot's a total mess throughout, though (what plot there is, anyway), and on the whole it just feels like a great concept that suffered from far too much studio interference.
