Release Date: July 18th Another summer blockbuster for Channing Tatum, who is quickly becoming a hotter thing in Hollywood (hence the Gambit casting news), but a dramatic change of pace from 22 Jump Street and a much stranger concept. In this Wachowskis helmed sci-fi epic, Tatum plays Caine Wise (Channing Tatum), a genetically engineered interplanetary warrior who travels to Earth to rescue the planet's heir apparent and reveal her true destiny, while protecting her from an alien enemy (Eddie Redmayne) intent on harvesting Earth for himself. Sean Bean is in it, so at least one person definitely dies. The Selling Point: The trailer looks epic - if a little busy - and the multifarious sci-fir reference points, that take in Star Wars, Blade Runner, The Fifth Element and more suggest a strong recipe.
