20 Most Hotly Anticipated Movies Of Summer 2014

2. Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes

Release Date: July 11th Set ten years after the initial virus breakout, the plot focuses on the fragile piece carved between the growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar and a band of human survivors of the devastating virus. But the peace doesn't last long, as the two sides are pushed to the brink of all-out war for who will become Earth's dominant species. Spoiler alert: the monkeys probably win. KIng of mo-cap Andy Serkis (who has just lent his skills consulting on Godzilla) is back as Caesar and there's a whole new human cast lead by the excellent Jason Clarke and Gary Oldman. Quite whether we'll get to see the monkeys choosing to start wearing trousers yet remains to be seen. The Selling Point: The prospect of seeing all out war between forces lead by Caesar and Gary Oldman is delightfully alluring. The Concerns: In truth, there are very few. Too many CGI monkeys on screen might represent a concern, but the quality in the first movie suggests it won't be too much of an issue. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v0wP5ZkaUGg
