Release Date: August 1st Marvel's second film of 2014 is far less of a nailed-on success as Captain America 2 was: that sequel had not only its predecessor behind it, but also the weight of association with the Avengers movies, and starting from scratch with Guardians Of The Galaxy is a different prospect entirely. The film, which will feed into the rest of the MCU in inevitable fashion, follows Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) who finds himself hunted after stealing an orb coveted by the villainous Ronan The Accuser (Lee Pace). To stop himself being wiped out, Quill joins forces with an unlikely crew of misfits - Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), and Groot (Vin Diesel) and they end up locked in a battle for the fate of the universe. The Selling Point: It's a brand new comic book movie property, and the casting looks pitch perfect, especially of Chris Pratt, who has that Han Solo charm about him already.
