Because the race to making the next big Stephen King adaptation doesn't begin only when he's actually written something, 2017's Sleeping Beauties - which he wrote with his son Owen - was actually optioned before it was even released. A competitive struggle saw Anonymous Content pick up the rights to the future-set tale of a woman struggling with a sleeping condition.

When they go to sleep, they're found cocooned in gauze and if they are awakened, they become feral and violent. The men of the small town ar eleft behind and isolated, while a single mysterious women appears immune to the condition. Definitely good TV content.

It's apparently coming from the same minds behind Netflix's excellent Maniac - Michael Sugar and Ashley Zalta - and though there's no new news on the series, it's going to be an exciting one to look out for.
