20 Hugely Unexpected Roles In Upcoming Movies

The Role: Styles will play a young Allied soldier, but nothing more than that is known.

Why It's Unexpected: Because Styles is of course known primarily for being a member of the boy band One Direction, and the thought of him appearing in a Christopher Nolan movie just makes the brain hurt a little bit.

Will It Work?: The movie's casting director has insisted that he got in on merit and not because of his name, beating out hundreds of other auditions with his readings.

Optimistically, it probably will work, and at least he looks distinctly different from his boy band style and clothing, so his presence shouldn't prove too distracting even if he's a little rough around the edges.
