The Role: Given that all eight of the title characters have been publicly cast, this one's tough: is Tatum playing one of the myriad bit parts, or is he playing a new character added to the script following Quentin Tarantino's post-leak re-draft? The possibilities are really quite endless. Why It's Unexpected: Credit to Tatum, he has turned his career around majorly over the last few years, what with his work on the Jump Street series and his stellar, awards-worthy turn in last year's dark drama Foxcatcher. Even so, did many see him going the Jonah Hill route so quickly and landing a part in a QT original? Amazing. Will It Work?: No doubt. Whether his part's comic or dramatic (one suspects the former), he'll no doubt nail it to the wall, because he's such a better actor than those Step Up and Nicholas Sparks movies ever allowed him to be. Plus, Tarantino's writing and direction are just that damn good almost every time he goes up to bat.
