The Role: It doesn't take a rocket surgeon to figure out that Sean Bean's playing an Army General, and that's exactly what he's credited as to date, which probably suggests it's not a huge part if he doesn't even have a name. But then, who the hell just hires Ned Stark to be a nameless General? Why It's Unexpected: Bean isn't exactly known for his plethora of comedy roles, so this one sticks out of his filmography a bit, even if it's most likely that he'll be playing a semi-serious character trying to fend off the extra-terrestrial threat. Will It Work?: It almost certainly won't be demanding work for the actor, so he'll probably just be going through the motions for a paycheck and deliver accordingly. Think Liam Neeson's utterly forgettable performance in Battleship, if you even remember that he was in it.
