15. Street Hustler - Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels (1998)
A film that boasts the cast of ex-footballer Vinnie Jones (on the front cover no less) and Sting doesn't look great on paper. However, this film launched the career of Jason Statham before he moved into action, and boasts some excellent British talent that you probably hadn't heard of then, but you certainly know now; Dexter Fletcher, Jason Flemyng and most importantly, Guy Ritchie and Matthew Vaughn. Iconic Moment: Style over substance is often a critique levelled at Ritchie, but it could not be more welcome than it is with his debut - elevating a great story, witty dialogue and excellent characters to the highest of standards in British film making. The opening scene where Jason Statham gives his market vendor selling spiel followed by a chase down by the pigs - "A Hundred Mile High City" by Ocean Colour Scene played and Guy Ritchie had arrived.
