20 Idiotic Decisions Made By Characters In Quentin Tarantino Movies

18. Mr. Blonde Kills Several Civilians (Reservoir Dogs)

The major conceit about Tarantino's debut feature is that we never actually see the central heist sequence, and the movie's events revolve more around the fallout of the bungled robbery, the paranoia and power plays that end up leaving almost everyone dead. Clearly the most unhinged member of the group is Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen), not simply because of the infamous sequence in which he slices a cop's ear off, but also because Mr. Blonde began opening fire on civilians during the heist. In an early scene, Mr. White (Harvey Keitel) and Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi) argue over the exact specifics of what happened first (White thinks Blonde didn't start shooting until the cops show up, while Pink thinks the cops showed up because of the shooting), but both agree that "Mr Blonde. became a madman", and wonder why Joe (Lawrence Tierney), the organiser of the heist, hired a loose canon like that in the first place. Whether or not the cops were already there when Mr. Blonde opened fire, he made a fragile situation even worse, and with dead civilians added to their rap sheet, no doubt enhanced the police's desire to take them all down.
