20 Idiotic Decisions Made By Marvel Film Characters

19. Grant Ward Trusts John Garrett (Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.)

S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Grant Ward was something of a juvenile delinquent - albeit partly due to the fact that his older brother forced him in to doing things he didn't want to do. He was sent to a military academy, from which he escaped, stole a car and drove the 1000 miles plus home and set fire to his parents' house. Although he didn't know, his older brother Maynard was in the house. He survived the fire, but pushed for the courts to try Grant as an adult and he was sent to a juvenile detention centre. Whilst in the detention centre, Ward was visited by S.H.I.E.L.D. agent John Garrett (who we now know was actually HYDRA), who offered him a choice; leave with him there and then and learn the skills required to survive or face going to an adult prison. Ward agreed to leave with Garrett and was taught how to survive in the Wyoming wilderness for five years - that is until Garrett left him, telling him he'd be back in a month to see how he was doing, and didn't return for six months. The stupid thing? Ward opted to wait for him the whole time.
