20 Idiotic Decisions Made By Marvel Film Characters

12. Powerless Thor Confronts The Destroyer/Loki (Thor)

Although this was a very noble move on Thor's part (and one that would make him worthy of wielding Mjolnir once more), there is also no doubt that it was a pretty dumb one. After having been exiled to Earth, Thor sees the Destroyer armour from his home realm arriving. It is Loki controlling the armour, having sent it to kill Thor so that he could secure Asgard's throne for himself. In hindsight, there may have been better options than walking up to it whilst completely powerless to stop it. Knowing now what Jane Foster and Erik Selvig were capable of, he could have asked them to throw something together (they helped to stop the Convergence in the Thor sequel, after all), but it is the fact that he could have asked Heimdall for assistance that makes the move so truly baffling. Heimdall sees everything - all Thor needed to do was shout for his help and he would surely have got it. After all, it's not as if Heimdall and the rest of Asgard hated Thor for what he had done and they would never just let him die.
