20 Incredible Facts You Didn't Know About 2020's Biggest Movies
5. Colin Farrell's Casting Wasn't Announced Until Three Months Before Release - Artemis Fowl
There's no denying the fact that Artemis Fowl was one of 2020's biggest duds, with the film ultimately not hitting cinemas until more than two years after principal photography commenced.
But things get weirder where Colin Farrell is concerned, with the actor's casting as Artemis Fowl Sr. not being announced until March 2020, just three months before the film came out, and almost 18 months after the first teaser trailer dropped.
Though Disney never formally confirmed it, this seemed to suggest that Farrell was only cast during reshoots, possibly replacing another unannounced actor given the pivotal nature of the part.
Either way, it's completely baffling that a major star would only be officially added to a movie's cast mere months before its release.
