9. Loomis Was Recreated With Practical Effects (Not CGI) - Halloween Kills

Halloween Kills' prologue sequence features a brief cameo from franchise icon Dr. Sam Loomis, seemingly created by using a CGI reference of late actor Donald Pleasence composited onto a stand-in performer.

But to the shock of many, the end result was achieved with no VFX whatsoever. Instead, the film's art director Tom Jones, Jr. wore an 11-piece prosthetic to be practically transformed into Loomis, the results of which are basically seamless in the final scene.

It helps that the scene was also quite sensibly shot in low lighting conditions, helping sell the illusion and conceal any discrepancies, but the overwhelming majority of viewers surely assumed this was achieved digitally.
